Treatments for erectile dysfunction and enhancement of penis size
Erectile dysfunction is usually a vascular disease which, like heart attacks and strokes, increases in incidence with age. In fact, it may be an early indicator of atherosclerosis which warrants medical investigation. It is caused by the inability of the body to deliver enough blood to the penis to keep it in an engorged, erect state. This, in turn, is caused by restricted flow in the artery that supplies the penis.
Some of the growth factors found in PRP and stem cells specifically induce the growth of new blood vessels. It's logical to conclude that application of those growth factors to areas of deficient circulation might result in the restoration of adequate perfusion and normal function. As of yet there are no major studies to prove this. However, there are many anecdotal reports and small case series which show that, in fact, this does frequently happen.
The P-Shot® (Priapus Shot®) and Erectus Shot® apply this principle to the problem of erectile dysfunction. They use the injection of PRP (P-Shot®) and stem cells + PRP (Erectus Shot®) into the penis to stimulate the growth of new blood vessels to augment the circulation. This may result in enough of an improvement that improved erections can be achieved. It is not, however, always successful, especially in smokers or severe cases of ED.
Since PRP and stem cells contain many other growth factors in addition to those that stimulate blood vessel growth, a not unexpected consequence of the P-Shot® or Erectus Shot® is also an increase in penis length and girth.
The names "Priapus shot®" and "P-Shot® are trademarks of Dr. Charles Runels and the name "Erectus shot®" is a trademark of Dr. Carlos Mercado. While Drs. Harrison and Andrew were trained by Dr. Runels in the technique they have updated the procedure since then and call our versions of these procedures "RejuvaP".
